Why Are We So Interested In Nutrition and Health?

Until about the last 50 years or so, most people drank just water for the most part. Now there is soda, flavored coffee and much more to decide from to quench our thirst. More choice is not a bad thing, but what most people don't realize is that those flavored drinks add tons of calories in to our daily diet. The other thing to watch out for with flavored drinks is just how many we consume in a day. Drinks do not fill us up like food does. You can easily add 500 to a 1000 calories or more to your daily intake by drinking flavored drinks. Most people do not care about health and nutrition until they have a few extra pounds that other people notice or a health problem that is related to nutrition.
