Workout with Goji

Goji helps the body adapt to stress from exercise and improves fatigue. Adaptogens enhance the body's replenishment of the two important muscle fuels — glycogen and creatine phosphate (CP) — both of which are depleted during exercise. This enables you to avoid burnout associated with glycogen depletion and allows you to fit more high-quality workouts into a defined period. Knowledge about adaptogens dates back thousands of years to ancient India and China, but serious scientific study did not begin until the late 1940s. In 1947, Dr. Nikolai Lazarev defined an adaptogen as an agent that allows the body to counter adverse physical, chemical, or biological stressors by raising nonspecific resistance toward such stress, thus allowing the organism to “adapt” to the stressful circumstances. For athletic performance enhancement, research suggests a daily usage of two to five ounces of high-quality standardized goji juice, taken in divided doses before and after exercise.
