What Are Goji Berries?

Goji Berries Picture
Goji berries are also known as Lycium Barbarum. There many types of goji berries around the world, but the one that has get oeveryone's attention originates from an area in Himalaya.

Legend has it that the Himalayans are using berries long before anyone did. To them, living over 100 years old is not uncommon. People in their 60s are EXPECTED to be able to ride a horse up the moutains to pick these precious fruit. The 70s in our society can't even stand properly.

The chinese, indian and tibetian later heard about this seemingly miraculous fruit and so they journeyed across the world to find out more. What they saw impressed them so much, they brought some of goji berry's seeds and planted them for use in their everyday life.

The goji plant is extremely adaptable to the climate and environmental changes. They can survive at temperatures ranging from -27 degress celcius to about 40 degrees celcius. Although goji berries can practically grow anywhere with soil, not all are made equal.

The reason why people are always looking for Himalayan goji berries is because the soil there are full of minerals and therefore produced better quality goji berries…. unlike our mineral-deficient soil in developed countries.
