Weight Loss Benefits of Calcium

In a very interesting article on ABC News last week, Stefan Aschan talks about the impact of Calcium on the body. While maintaining bone density is directly linked to adequate calcium and magnesium, there are many other benefits to having sufficient calcium in your diet.

 Aschan reports on a recent study that identified calcium to weight loss in post-menopausal women. Calcium has been shown to positively impact the breakdown of fat stores in the body. I'm sure this will be exciting news for a few ladies I know!

What really surprised me in this article was the fact that almost 70% of all Blacks are lactose intolerant. This statistic was amazing to me. I know a few people who are lactose intolerant and must carefully examine product labels to insure that milk products are not included.
